WNC Insurance Services Inc. announced the appointment of Eric Wurmser as President of the Lender-Placed Insurance Division. In his role, Wurmser is responsible for the design and delivery of WNC’s insurance products and services to financial institutions, including lender-placed hazard, flood, wind and real estate-owned insurance, collateral protection insurance, guaranteed asset protection, and related outsourcing solutions.

“Eric’s extensive knowledge of the industry and proven track record of performing for clients and building highly effective teams make him an ideal fit to advance the Lender-Placed Insurance Division’s strategic objectives,” said Patrick Blandford, Chief Executive Officer.

Prior to joining WNC, Wurmser spent more than 16 years with multiple providers in the lender-placed insurance industry, serving in several senior leadership roles that spanned across operations, finance and product. Most recently, he served as Executive Vice President of Product & Finance at SWBC in San Antonio, Texas, where he had profit and loss (P&L) responsibility over all insurance products sold within the financial institution space.

Wurmser holds a Bachelor of Science in business administration, with an emphasis in management information systems, from California State University, Northridge. He is based in WNC’s office in Dallas, Texas.

Tokio Marine Kiln today announced that it has acquired the remaining 51 percent share in WNC Holdings, a market-leading provider of specialty insurance products and services for U.S.-based clients.

WNC, a managing general underwriter, provides a range of specialty risk management solutions, including Private Flood, Builders Risk and Lender-Placed Insurance products. It expects approximately $200 million of net written premium in 2018. TMK has worked in partnership with WNC since 1986 and acquired a 49 percent share of the company in June 2011. WNC will retain its existing brand as it continues to drive growth in its Private Flood and Construction Divisions, and launches its HomeownerSelect® product for mortgage servicers.
